Liposuction Frequently Asked Questions

This video answers questions such as:

– What makes a good candidate?
– How is the procedure performed?
– What should patients expect during the recovery process?
– How long is the recovery process?

Liposuction surgery may be considered to treat areas of excess fat in the stomach, buttocks, hips, love handles, saddlebags, thighs, calves, ankles, breasts (including male breast enlargement), back, arms and neck. Often, patients seeking liposuction have noticed areas of fat deposit that are out of proportion with the rest of the body and do not go away with diet and exercise. Since liposuction removes fat and not skin, it is well-suited for areas with minimal amounts of excess skin and good skin elasticity.

Patient’s comment:
My BMI is 31, 40 years, 5.4 feet. My doc, who is in La Jolla says basically he can do this – my appt is next Wed. – he day before Thanksgiving. So I have back pain, and ever since that started, I have gained weight – an only lost a few, but maintained anyway for 5+ years. This is with hiking, some biking etc. plus a desk job of 12+ hours a day sitting. What do you think.. BMI 31 etc.. I do not want to look abnormal and squeezed in the middle.
